Karen is the Accreditation Process Administrator for one of TCAG’s clients, Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. She is responsible for off-site reviews, setting up on-site reviews, planning seminars, updating the web site, and other administrative duties. Karen has over 10 years’ experience working at non-profit organizations. She worked at The Society of Critical Care Medicine as an administrative assistant in marketing and then in program development where she worked closely with the chapters and sections of the Society. She also attended their annual meeting where she greeted attendees at social events and worked in the Society’s booth. Karen also worked at the Emergency Nurses Association as an administrative assistant where she was involved in committees that revised and/or created and developed educational products such as the Course in Advanced Trauma Nursing (CATN), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC). Karen also worked in the travel industry as a travel agent and as travel secretary with an incentive company. Karen grew up in the Chicago area but briefly moved to Houston to be near her grandchildren. Karen earned her Associate of Occupational Studies degree in Business Technology-Medical Subspecialty from MTI College of Business and Technology in Houston, TX which included medical terminology, medical billing and insurance coding using the ICD-9-CM and CPT manuals and medical transcription.
