Douglas Gustafson, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Douglas Gustafson is a graduate of DePaul University with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting and has over 20 years public, private, and not-for-profit experience. Doug serves as the chief financial officer for The Center for Association Growth and for its client associations, overseeing preparation of financial statements, budgets, cash flow management, financial audits, and special projects.

Doug has served as financial, strategic, and operational advisor to more than a dozen associations over the past eleven years. His service on several not-for-profit boards of directors has been a valuable asset in administering to association clients.

Doug has a strong financial background which enables him to quickly link strategic initiatives to short and long-term, financial impact. He has been involved at the board level to bring a trade association that was nearly bankrupt to funding a very healthy reserve within a three-year period.

Doug is experienced in public speaking and training in the corporate environment. His experience ranges from public seminars while in the public accounting business to structuring extended training sessions for various size entities.

Prior to working with The Center for Association Growth, Doug was a public accountant with a mid-sized accounting firm and performed audit, accounting, and tax functions for a variety of clients. In addition to his public accounting experience, he was a controller for various private companies performing accounting functions from cash management to banking relations and financial statement analysis.

Doug is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and the Northwest and Schaumburg Associations of Commerce and Industry. He is a board member of the Council for Disability Rights, and is active in the Biz2Biz Networking Organization.
